It's not cynical and not at all unfair, I was being helpful to the poster
and never mentioned the word "spam". I receive at least monthly
e-newsletters from Fred Aldous, about which I'm perfectly happy. They
certainly stock some things which we've not found anywhere else.

I think that your post was unthinking and reflects more of your character
than it does mine. You misinterpreted what I said.

Unsolicited emails are still spam, no matter how you try to dress it up.

That's why I suggested them.

That is your opinion. So be it. I will leave others to judge whether or not
my earlier response to you warranted your aggressive attack on me.

> You misinterpreted what I said.

Oh no I didn't. You'd like everyone else to think so, but the inference in
your post was quite clear, that FA would send unsolicited emails because
she was 'on their list'. That may not have been what you meant to say, but
that was the import of your comment.

I haven't had any unsolicited emails from them, you have. You *are* quite
obviously on their list, I am not. You have no knowledge whatsoever as to
whether the OP is currently 'on their list'.

To paraphrase an old saying "Engage brain before touching keyboard".

Nobody solicited your mail :-)

That was your interpretation. It wasn't my intent. Nobody else has said
anything, for or against.

Indeed.

It seems that I did too. Forget I asked my question.

?????? How does bookmarking a site result in getting mail? I must have
hundreds of sites bookmarked and I don't think I can ever recall getting an
email from any one of the sites I've bookmarked.
