I am looking for a good place to purchase 5-8mm china silk. I am fairly
new to fabric buying and I don't need more than a couple of yards at a
time, but I am having trouble finding it at my local stores on
Portland, OR. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard

ThaiSilks <www.thaisilks.com> has 8mm silk in a flock of colors. 5mm
and 6mm is only available in natural.

Am a fan of Thai Silks from old. Great products at decent prices. Have
used their china silk for linings in the past and never had a problem.
Mind you only used natural so cannot vouch for colours.

Along with others here, I have used Thai Silks
http://www.thaisilks.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=TS&Category_Code=F
and been well satisfied with quality, price and service.
I have this bookmarked, but haven't ordered, so can't offer any

But, here in Portland, you really should look at the Mill End Store:

Their bridal/special-occasion department has a selection of silks.

Also, I have seen silks at Fabric Depot:
http://www.fabricdepot.com/default.aspx

And, Josephine's Dry Goods carries silks:

How do all of these listed compare to ones available from Dharma?
That's where I usually get mine.
