Hi All,
Daughter Paige and I wanted to give an unofficial report from the
Michigan State Fair Community Arts and not just the "blip" under
Beverly's beutiful Oregon State Fair Winnings (Congrats again!!)
I don't want to make it sound like nobody entered their great
stuff....because lot's of people did....and I can attest that some
eye-popping, stand out, absolutely fantastic item were entered. I was
wholeheartedly inspired....(when I had energy to walk around on my
feet and enjoy the exhibits).....But, all in all, not as many people
entered. The numbers were disappointingly down. That's what I meant
if I sounded a bit sad about low entries. Not the quality.
I was even quite excited that some members from our Creative
Clothing Club entered and did quite well........even won Best of
Show!! Yippee! Can't wait till the next meeting when I can give big
hugs all 'round! But still....I know so much MORE talents are hidden
at home in their closets that will go unrecognized. Not everyone in
the average community knows about "us sewers" lurking amongst them
unless we reveal ourselves once in a while.
My Great Big "Thank You" to all those in all the State Fairs
everywhere that take the time to share their talents with the public
and inspire.....and I hope you are rewarded at least with a ribbon if
not with a heartfelt bit of praise from an admirer.
