It's been a busy month... ;)

Mother of Bride A:
All three garments cut and sewn. Skirt needs some fit adjustment
(customer was ill and lost weight, and silk crepe de chine did its usual
growing overnight after you cut it thing), the lining sewing down at the
zip, and the hem fixing. Top needs putting together with the lining and
the buttons and buttonholes doing. Jacket needs lining assembling and
putting in and hem fixing. Wedding 15th July. I should have this done
and dusted by Monday. Oh, and I did her a tiny clutch bag this evening.
Just a little stiffened silk envelope, big enough for a handbag pack
of tissues, a lipstick and compact, and a credit card! ;) There will
be pix anon...

Mother of Bride B:
Jacket cut and half assembled. Lining needs cutting and assembling and
inserting... Dress and lining need cutting and assembling. Still have
fitting issues with this one. Arthritic shoulders. Not good. But we
are getting there! :)

Mother of Groom:
Jacket cut and half assembled: needs sleeves in, and lining needs to be
cut, assembled, and inserted. Dress needs cutting and making up with
its lining. All fitting and style issues sorted. I'll have this
finished by the end of next week. :)

Wedding for these two early August.

Bride:
Skirt complete.
Top issues with mum to be resolved. Not sure what's going on there, but
the bride loves it so far! :) I'll find out on Friday, no doubt.
Petticoat cut and half assembled. I'll finish this tomorrow, along with
some of MoB A.

Sister of Groom:
Skirt toile done and fitted. Just need the lining and I can do her
skirt. :) Top toile 1 & 2 fitted and I'm ready to do the adjustments
for scoliosis and do toile Mk II! She's also decided to have a shawl
rather than a jacket: less work for me, but less pressure too! This
wedding is August Bank Holiday weekend (last weekend in August), so
there's time to sort it out.

Bronze Bridesmaid:
Dress assembled: needs slight fitting adjustment as she's lost a couple
of inches! As if she wasn't lovely enough... Don't need to do anything
more to this until after the other stuff is finished as the wedding
isn't until October, but if I have a moment it'll get sorted as there
isn't much to do (other than taking out the lower half of a concealed
zip and re-doing it because she lost the weight off her bum!).
Little bag complete: bride and bridesmaid loved it.

Potential new customer 1: Matron of Honour
Dress designed and estimate sent off! Ha! This may well be my first
'real' pattern using Wilde Ginger. :)

Potential new customer 2:
Latin competition sparkly 'thing' (there isn't enough of it to call it a
dress!) design done. I just need to get some idea of how long the
beading and crystal application will take, and then I can work out the
estimate. If they go with this one and like it, they may go for a full
competition ball gown next year. :) Fun, different from weddings, but
still not historical costumes.

I'll keep popping in during my coffee breaks (I don't take drinks or
food in the sewing room - especially not with hundreds of quids worth of
other folk's fabric lolling around!), so I'll be here, but maybe not as
instantly as usual. For a very part-time dressmaker, I seem to be
rather busy...

Aha, that's of interest for us all.

Crescat munditia. (Doesn't sound quite right, but then I'm
not competing)

I took out a late 80s McCalls ($6.50 USD) pattern and
measured its pieces against the other pieces and myself.
Raining raining, didn't want to take the machine to
get its checkup.
