Hi all, I redid my outdoor sling chairs last year and used Coats and Clark
100% nylon upholstery thread to sew them but the thread has not held up to
the hot Texas sun.
I am getting ready to do some new covers for my outdoor lounge cushions and
want to know what is the best thread to use. I am in the North Texas area.
Thanks,
Judy

C&C also sell an "OUTDOOR thread" that is %100 polyester , heavy
duty and UV resistant. And i think Mettler and Gutermann sell
similar products

and for some other serious thread options and info these sites
were in my outdoor sewing links

I'd suggest you talk to the nice folks at Beacon Fabrics... Buddy and Lydia
ran a boat canvas shop for many years, and know what UV does...

V69 weight thread can tear up a tension in a home sewing machine fairly easily,
so you may want to find one of the old black Singers or similar at a
thrift store for this job.
