Hello all,
I'd just like to ask you all to keep your fingers crossed for our darling
Christine. I had to take her to hospital this morning because her fever
(40.3 °C) didn't go down, not even with paracetamol. They suspect it to be
pneumonia, but I'll hear more later. And to top it all, I chopped off
another nice big chunk of my left pinkie finger so writing this takes ages.
I can stay with her during her time at the hospital, so I'm just here to set
things in order and pack some stuff while granny stays with her. I'll pop
into home now and again, but it's uncertain if I'll find time for sitting
down to the computer to read, let alone write. However, if you could keep
your fingers crossed for us, or pray, or dance, or chant, whatever your
religion recommends in this case, we'd be very grateful.

Fingers crossed for little Christine and hugs for you all. Look after
your finger too.

Ursula, that's a pretty high fever, I am sending you good
wishes for your daughter's recovery.
And I hope that your finger heals without infection.

Fingers are crossed, and prayers on the way. Poor cherub! And poor
you! Haven't you trimmed enough off those fingers? We don't want you
doing another Ranulf Fiennes!
Update when possible, love. We can wait - though out fingers may be a
little chewed as we do so!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and good wishes. We have been lucky,
the fever broke (only 38 °C this morning, she had a bowl of spaghetti for
lunch, and said a couple of new words, e.g. spaghetti, fork, and wheels,
hidden in her chatter that has come back); they put her on antibiotics
immediately after they had confirmed their diagnosis lab-wise. Although they
are an anthroposophic clinic, they're not above 'normal' medication, they
just make an extra effort with their patients, being kind to them, giving
them good words, the best hospital food I've tasted so far (most of it
organic) and a friendly ambiente.
I just popped in this afternoon to get more stuff, do some laundry and let
you know how DD is doing. However, although I should be above such people's
comments, I feel compelled to say a word or two on what Mr. B wrote (who'll
probably go the same way as Red Dog in my spam filter from here on). And I'm
not doing it for him but for you; it never occurred to me in the slightest
that my attitude might cause offense.
- Personally, I think that there is such a multitude of different religions
because there is such a multitude of different people.
- Although in some cases I find it hard to accept, I think that people find
their religion for good reason and it's there to help them.
- Moreover, I think that one never should try to 'teach a pig to sing', as
Sharon quotes so nicely, and therefore, I see my neighbour's profession as a
missionary among the Sinti and Roma (who already have their beliefs) in a
somewhat critical light, no matter how much I value here as a person (or the
other way round).
- Who said that I'm not religious? I just don't go round bragging about it.
- Since I value all religions equally I see no contradiction in my request
to you all, especially since I see many of you as friends, some of you even
as good friends.
But I think those of you who are concerned already knew this. Thank you
again, I must be off.
