I have hardwood floors in the kitchen as well, but
fortunately (or not) the floor slopes just slightly toward
the wall opposite the DW, and the drip was definitely coming
from just under the front, so I think/hope that no water is
under the DW. At any rate, I'm not about to try to pull it
out. I clean the door seals regularly.

I always run the DW last thing at night, so I probably
wouldn't see a leak in a timely manner. :-| I never run the
clothes washer when I'm away.

There is usually a short sort of kick or spacer plate at the bottom.
If you remove 2 or maybe 4 screws you can see what is going on
underneath somewhat with a flashlight. SOmetimes I wonder about
all this technology.

You should see what happens when the ds is learning to run the
dishwasher and grabs the liquid soap instead of the dishwashing
powder! Oh my gosh, soap bubbles everywhere. I wish I had taken
a picture. Thankfully that was when we had vinyl. The floor was
really clean by the time we had the mess up though!
I hope tomorrow is better for you.

BTDTGTTS. In our last house, which was built into a hillside, with the
kitchen upstairs, and water was pouring into one of the guest rooms
downstairs, the kitchen sub-floor was ruined, the bedroom ceiling was
coming down, the bed was wet, the carpet was soaked......

That wasn't a prob with the DW, but we had DW and WM side by side and
draining into the same waste pipe, which had about a 10 ft horizontal run,
correctly installed in the gap between floors with a downwards slope, but
*not* correctly installed with enough support clips, so it sagged and all
the gunk produced by WM and DW built up in the 'sag' over a period of time.
When the WM emptied, it was backing up in the pipe and going out through
the DW door.

I'm not normally given to using bad language, but the air was decidely blue
that day! It was a major insurance job to get it all put right.
