Some of you may know that I have been working to help with the the
"Fannish Relief" effort to help out members of the SF community affected
by Hurrcaine Katrina. Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon have joined
forces with Deborah's group "Operation Mail Drop".

Deborah let me know that they have some people who have specific needs
for plus-size clothing. Here are details of the people whe is looking
for cloting for:
______________________________________________
Women's size 3X WINTER clothing suitable for a librarian at a college.

Men's size 5X WINTER clothing suitable for a law office paralegal assistant.

Women's size 8 WINTER clothing suitable for a company account. Jeans too.

All these people need good clean working clothing - not play clothing.
So get together with your friends and send me the VERY best of what you
can find. Slight worn clothing is fine, but if they have holes, stains,
busted seams, pilled up fabric or unwoven fabrics - please don't send
these. These people have enough "Salvation Army" junk. We are looking
for "professional" clothing for these people - if you can find that
please sent it - and HURRY! - our families will LOVE you for it! Right
now they are FREEZING in summer clothing!
______________________________________________________

So if you or anyone else you know has suitable clothing to donate,
please get in touch with me right away or contact Deborah at
DebboraWil@aol.com

Thanks a bunch. Please feel free to forward this to anyone you know.

Wendy, where (geographically) are these folks? Winter in, say, Houston
would be different from that in your locale or mine(upper midwest).
Fleece, down, and turtlenecks, or just long sleeves?

TIA!

Ask Deborah at DebboraWil@aol.com

She is treading a fine line between "enough info to get what they need"
to "enangering their privacy".

Wendy, I re-read your letter after SF was explained and I reached the
conclusion that these people must have been relocated because of KATRINA
since you said they need wool/winter clothing and are freezing in summer
clothing. My siblings said if they were on the Gulf Coast right now, they'd
be wearing the lightest clothing possible because it has been so warm, like
here. That is changing fast though since the first cold front is moving
through as I write and it might actually go down to 45 here, but I'm not
sure about the AL/MS/LA coast. I am sorry I don't have any nor do I know
any one who has clothing in those sizes, especially woolens.

Thanks for looking - we've got a couple outfits lined up for both of the
women so far.
