thinking about our neighbors across the pond while sipping my
cup of Twinings Black Currant, after the trouble of making it
properly that is ..

water just to boil (200 F),
pre-heat cup with a hot water rinse,
pour hot water,
*then* immerse the tea leaves,
3-4 minutes depending on desired strength,
slowly remove tea leaves, no squeeze, no shake (avoid the
bitter run off)

ahh

I don't know if twinings is considered great or good or ok but my
taste buds like it.
usually it is English Breakfast but i felt adventurous this
morning :)

considering the medicinal (ie. laxative) effect Black Currant tea
seems to have ???

Robb, have you tried Earl Grey yet. Very nice tea. If you can get Harney's
loose tea you should give them a try. Very nice brand.

Hello juno,

Oh yes, (is that what you drink ?) i used to drink that for ages
(yummy) then one day i developed a reaction (allergic ?? ) to
the bergamot ?? i guess ?? but it made my tongue numb and swell a
bit so i stopped drinking. i tried again some months later and
had the same reaction. i did not want to risk any severe
reactions and stopped :(

now it is mostly English breakfast or Green tea with Jasmine and
others.

I will look for the Harney's to give it a try.
thanks for suggestion,
robb

I'd give it up very fast too. I have allergies to many foods and know just
how you feel.
Harney's is a small company in the Hudson Valley, they have a lovely
selection of tteas. Gertrude Ford is anothter local company, but I only see
there teas at Christmas time now. They may have been bought out by a larger
firm, I'm not sure.
