Today I needed an after noon at the retail therapy centre, but I wasn't
buying fabric.

As you know, I hit my WW goal a few weeks back, and this week I almost
hit my personal goal of a total 70lbs gone. As A result, I am making
the chocolate brown fabrics into snazzy new LITTLE clothes! Well, I
made the skirt... I made a top that will be great for evenings, and I
bought a cheap and cheerful top for daytime use... But the feet were
all wrong! My black sandals look OK with the skirt, but are a bit odd
for cold wet weather... My flatties are great (I have 3 pairs, two of
Mary Jane style and one that is great for country walks!). I put the
MJ's on and didn't feel right... I put a boot on one foot and a MJ on
the other, and asked the hubby... He said the boot! So I wore the
boots that day, but they are a bit warm for something less than freezing
conditions! (I do wear open toe sandals and no sox in the snow at
times!) So I told him, I need shoes to wear with all this brown stuff I
own/am making.

Today I bought shoes! Cute, frivolous shoes with HEELS! These shoes!

WIDE FIT frivolous shoes! :)

Light enough to look good with floaty skirts and frocks, enough heft not
to look totally daft with sturdier skirts and trousers.

I also bought 4 new bras: 32DD! Good god - almost 'normal' again! Bit
different from a 38F! Phew - not so much pattern alteration going on
here, and I can buy them for less than £20 a shot!

That was, I joked with the lass on the till, my holiday shopping
finished! She rolled her eyes, saying You did so well - mine's always
in the hundreds! That, I told her, was because I already have six
swimsuits that fit! We both giggled madly at that, and the manager lady
took a startled gawp at us.

So now I have to get busy with the fabric and make some more brown stuff
to go with my silly (but also very comfy!) shoes! :)

Dress? Top? Skirt? Dress? Top? Skirt? Dress? Top? Skirt?
Buggrit! All three! :D

We all need one of those now and again. They just opened a brand new
therapy center up the way from me. I hear it calling to me, but thought I'd
wait till the first weekend open crowds thin out a little. ;)

Oh those are really cute!!!!!! I'm tickled that wedge heels are back "in."
They are so comfy. And being low to the ground (DD is 2" taller than me now
and boy do I hear that all the time!!!!! lol) I wear heels frequently. I
have 3 pairs of different wedgies. Love them all, soooo comfy to walk in!!!
You will wear those shoes to death! They would look cute with jeans and a
sweater or nice blouse too. I think you picked a very fun, versatile pair
and I know you will love them. (new shoes make us all so giddy don't
they??? lol)

And I agree, make all 3!!!!

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and just annoys the
pig.

Alan was a star! He doesn't like the shoes, but doesn't care so long as
*I* like them and they are comfy. As he says, it ain't me feet he's
looking at! ;)

AND he went up the shed and got the trestles for my cutting table, so I
can cut a pile of stuff out tomorrow and get sewing! :)

Burnt orange, sugar almond pink, bright yellow... :) Brown is such a
useful colour!

Order them! :) Or at least ask them if they'll post to you.
