Every year, around my birthday (I'll be 75 a week from tomorrow,) my DH
and I wait for a really good fall day and do something special. Today
we went on the Walkway over the Hudson. You can find out about it if
your interested.

Since I haven't done much walking lately, my knee slows me down, we went
about halfway across and back. I guess we walked about 1 1/2 miles. It
was absolutely spectacular. The weather was perfect, about 73-74, a
slight breeze and very clear. There were and have been a lot of people
taking the walk.
When we finished we had lunch at a little restaurant that has a terrace
that looks out on the river.
Couldn't ask for a better way to spend the day.

Sounds like you had a really nice day. Here we had the dullest weather, not
exactly cold but the humidity made it feel unpleasant and no sun to make it
better. I'll have to play that youtube thing to DD, she loves trains and
knows how to imitate the whistle quite well for her age and given the fact
that she hasn't seen a real steamtrain so far. Thanks for sharing. ;-)

I think she will get a kick out of the sounds of what I call real
trains. Kids don't get much chance to hear or see them any longer.
It was a great day today. We haven't had much in the way of good weather
lately so it made the day even better. I wouldn't want to try the walk
on a cold damp day. The wind comes off the hills an the west side of the
river and can be very uncomfortable.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Thanks for the birthday greetings. My DH is a very special person. We
have always had a lot of shared interests but also maintain our
individuality by our separate interest. It makes life more fun that way.
I work very hard to be active. I try to get to the gym 3 days a week to
ride the bike for 50-60 minutes. I'm big on sewing knitting and a few
other forays in to handicrafts. If something new catches my fancy I try
it. We have 9 grandchildren and I try to give them an active grammie.
It's a lot more fun that way.
