My SIL gave me her old sewing machine today. She's 83 and very disabled.
I believe she got it in the late 50's and looks to be in good condition.
It needs a new belt for sure and a good cleaning. Lots of dust and lint
on it. There isn't much in the way of information on it. I know it was
labeled for the Department Store it was bought at and SIL's auntie
thought it was made for or by White. The only information I have on it
is on the gold badge. It says,Precision Made Machine, Made in Japan. It
has a number casted into the front base C56-17539, and has a Delco motor.
It's one of those pretty old style black ones. No manual, no extra
bobbins, no extra feet. I'm hoping she will find the missing parts to
it. she's in the process of moving and had a house full of boxes that
she will have to unpack when she's able to.I want to use it as a back-up
and for zips.
Ron, do you have belts that will fit? What kind of bobbins do I need.
The one on it slips in on the side and is in a little case.
Any information will be appreciated

Hi Juno,

I was given a Precision sewing machine last summer, and it is a pretty
machine. I found this site on the web which was quite helpful to me.
Even if this manual isn't for your specific model, it might be close
enough to give you some useful information.

Good luck and have fun with our new toy!

Donna,
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It looks just like my "new machine." I'm
anxious to get it cleaned and working. My SIL will be thrilled also. I
wasn't going to take it at first and then after talking to DH we both
decided that it would be foolish to let it go. It was a gift from her
husband many years ago and she always treasured it. I think I'll name
her after SIL. So from now on she's KAY.I see trouble ahead for me. Once
you put your foot in that pond of old machines, who knows how many
you'll end up with. The only thing that will stop me is, the reality
that we may move in a few years to a very small house on Cape Cod. Then
the decision is a lot of machines or a place to sleep grandchildren when
they come.OF course you can always sleep a kid on top of the cabinet and
let feet dangle over the side.

Looks like a Japanese made Singer 15 clone. Singer feet should fit it.
You probably need the Type 15 (universal) bobbins for it. Ron will
know for sure.

Juno, air beds for the kids, that's what mine use and love, them They
inflate easily and squeeze in between the sofa, chairs, sometimes even in
the corner, next to the fireplace(in summer) of course. They can use the sm
to make their own space, separate from the others.
