Having a limited budget thus ruling out dealing in all t-shirt sizes
(XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL), which sizes should one focus on if the target
audience is males aged 13 - 25 who buys von dutch, quiksilver, dc shoes,
and the likes?
Also, what are the popular colours besides black...and white? My
favorites are red, maroon, navy and heather grey. Comments..please?

My tall, muscular, well built 11 YO like an L - but T's here are
fashionable nine sizes too big! His school shirts are age 14 and fit
just fine. Waist size is 27".

French fashion seems to be skinny fit at the moment. No1 son likes long
sleeved reasonably fitting but not second skin T shirts and long ribbed
preferably front zipped pullover/cardigans, except I am not allowed to call
them cardigans!! Too old fashioned.
It's more about the graphic design on the T-shirt than the colour for my
boys

For my 11 year-old who is the size of the average 13 to 14-year old, I
buy adult size medium or large t-shirts. The kids at his school and at
his sister's high school, prefer baggy shirts, and I can't say I mind
buying him things big enough that he may actually be able to wear them
out before outgrowing them.
My daughter (15) will occasionally buy a men's size small t-shirt that
she finds especially appealing, but only if I'll agree to lower the
neckline, raise the hem and reshape the sleeves to her specs. It's kind
of a PITA and I'm backed up on projects so she's been told that if what
she wants is a baby-tee, that's what she should be buying.
Since you don't have unlimited funds to tie up in inventory I would
suggest stocking M, L and XL, with a few XXL. Skip the XS and S. Your
target market wants loose shirts.
Personally I'd start off with black and heather gray. I do most of my
son and husband's clothes shopping and I avoid white like the plague.
It gets grimey, needs bleaching and that tends to be hard on the
graphics and reduce the life of the garment.
