I have a 5-year-old Wild Ginger software package called Martha's
Favorites No. 9732. I contacted the company because I could not find
a link to the free update advertised for this software.

I was sent an attachment by the company that was meant to update the
software but despite a number of emails back and forth to the company,
it will NOT update to my software. The company repeatedly tells me to
copy and paste it to a folder that does not exist. I am now at my
wit's end because although I can still use the original program ok,
whenever I try to copy the update to it (as instructed) it voids the
program completely and I have to then remove it and reinstall it.

If someone else has had a similar problem I would really appreciate an
answer. My computer advisor thinks the original program has no
facility for receiving an update since the folder that Wild Ginger
recommend in all their emails is different from mine. They instruct
me to copy the update into a folder called Click&Sew9733 whereas my
original program is Click&Sew9732.

I have asked Wild Ginger to post me an updated CD but so far no luck.

Have you tried "creating" a new folder with that file name, and
then copying the new update file into the newly created folder?
I have no idea if this would work, but it's the first thing I
would try. And I don't know what OS you are using, so if this is
a stupid suggestion, well sorry.

Yes and thank you, I did try that and it did not work. I really do
think that the original program is not capable of an update. This
does happen and if so, well I'm stuck with the original I guess.

Did you try asking this question on the Wild Ginger message boards?

No I didn't actually. I thought the Wild Ginger Technical Support
person (Karen) would know exactly what I am supposed to do. But it
seems she doesn't, so I will try the message boards. Thanks.
