My DGD's soccer club has purchased green warm-up jackets for
all the girls, and last year I embroidered logos and names
on each of them. This year there are three new members of
the group, so they bought additional jackets and asked if I
would embroider them. "Of course," I said. "No Problem," I
said.
;-}
The jackets are from a very-well-known international
sportswear manufacturer, headquartered in my area (but who
shall remain nameless). The three new jackets are marked,
on the sewn-in neck tags, "S", "M", and "M". However, the
hang tags are marked "SM", "SM", and "MED". <sigh>
The genuine "Small" measures: neck 16"", chest 34", and
sleeves 29" (collar to hem).
The other two each have 16.5" necks, 38" chests and sleeves
all over the map, from 29.375" to 30", each and every one
different. I'm guessing they are actually both "Mediums" and
the "S" hang tag is erroneous.
DD is pretty sure they are supposed to be two Smalls and one
Medium. I've sent her an e-mail explaining the situation,
and will not start any of the embroidery until this is
resolved.
This very-well-known sportswear company (bearing the name of
a Greek goddess) has *major* quality control issues in their
Asian manufacturing plant IMHO!
Beverly, who had hoped to get this project knocked off this
weekend....

I've no idea of the name of this manufacturer and have even looked up
names of Greek goddesses to try to help my poor struggling brain. It's
driving me crazy!
I've had problems with many clothing items over the years. I even had a
pair of jeans once for one of my children that had the front right a
larger size than the front left. The leg seams had been eased to fit and
the hems looked more or less even but the right front was definitely
just a little longer. And wider. Having worked in a jeans factory in the
San Joaquin Valley I can well understand how things can become mixed up
and missed by the person who leaves the sticker "inspected by #52". It
really does pay to check and to be able to return things. I still
sometimes miss things and I really do try to do a pretty good inspection
at the store.

it starts with an "N", if that helps?
i bought a pair of Levi's cargo pants, & they were pretty
nice, so i bought another pair. now, i'm getting a little used
to every pair of Levi's jeans i get fitting a little
different. drives me buggy, but apparently 32x34 loose fit
means something different every time... so, i get the new
cargo pants home, wash them, put them on... they feel
*enormous*. not just a little baggy. huge. so, i measure the
waistband. 40" <blink> measure it again. still 40". call
Levi's & ask for a RA. they grumbled about them not being
defective. i'm sorry, but a 40" waist is nowhere near 32". i
call it a defect.
it took 6 weeks, but i did get another pair that really was
32" waist.
i guess i should start making my own jeans (since my waist
fits a 31, but i can't find those anymore)

I've had the same problem with Dockers (I think they're made by
Levi's) - each time I order them (same model, same size) theyfit
differently. I've measured them, and the rise often changes from pair
to pair...

Levi sizes are very erratic. When my boys were at home, I started
buying Wranglers for them and DH because the sizes were reliable and
when I saw them on sale, I could safely buy them.
