FOrmal portraits are good for some familyies, and some families actually
like doing them. We are NOT one of those families. We prefer fun,
often slightly off-the-wall themes. So far, we have done formal,
hawaiian shirts, pajamas, formal, renaissance garb, turtlenecks, and now
formal again. The first 2 formal pictures were done for each child's
first Christmas. This year was done to please MIL. I won't do this
again simply because it is not "us". DS has already said he wants one
year to be super-heroes and bad guys, DH chose the civil war theme, DD
wants a princess theme.....not that it is meant to offend anybody, but
in this family, formal pictures=boring.

I think you need to find a better photographer. You and your family are
fine, your clothing and all. But the quality of the photo is lacking,
and as someone pointed out, the posing is not good either. It looks an
awful lot like a "Sears 40 prints for $10.99" photo session.
