Remember I asked about these a while ago? My package from Fashion
Fabrics Club arrived!! Whoopee! These were all listed as 95% rayon/5%
lycra, 58-60" wide and were on sale at $5.75 a yard. I intended these
for some summer tops, and as my favorite pattern requires only 7/8 yard
I figured I would play it safe and order an even yard of each of seven
different prints. Oh, boy, this company advertises that they cut
generously, and they certainly do. Only one piece is a yard long, most
of them are 40" to 45" long. One particular one I think must have been
a bolt end. It has a tiny hole right at the selvage 16" from one end,
but the entire piece is 66" wide and 66" long. BTW, all these
measurements are after a trip through the washer and dryer.

Interestingly, although they are all the same fiber content, they are
very different. Some are very shiny, some matte and some in between.
Some are stretchier than others, and one appears to be two-way stretch.

It will be interesting to see how they all turn out.

Woo hoooo, Olwyn Mary. Positive online shopping experiences are so much
fun.

I love rayon challis but am not familiar with rayon knits. How are they
about wrinkling?

Atb that sort of price, well worth the experiment! :) Do pix please!
Wanna SEEEE! ;)

I don't usually make T shirts, but I skimmed a pattern off a jumper and
made a fuschia pink one for a friend today as she cannot buy any she
likes this summer. This one is a cotton & Lycra mix.

I just love new stash....

I told me other half a few days ago (in response to a few mild
grumbles about all the plastic bins of fabric) that fabric has to age
a few years before use... (lol)

I thought I could put these items in my favorites, then drag and drop
them in here. Not so, apparently.

Oh well, if you go to www.fashionfabricsclub.com then type in rayon knit
and hit "go" it will bring you to the page.

I bought a yard each of:

BB296        Ivory floral multi knit
BB321        Tan multi floral knit
CC343        Royal blue print jersey
CC345        Black print jersey
CC356        Coral floral jersey
CC359        Tan multi jersey
Q742        Blue paisley jersey.

As soon as the package arrived, I took all the fabric upstairs, took the
good thread off the machine and threaded up with old stuff (two ends
each of 7 pieces of 60" fabric works out to 70 feet of sewing - no use
wasting the good stuff) and stayed them all. Back downstairs, then
tossed them into the washer on very warm, gentle cycle as that is how
the finished garments will be washed. I didn't notice any appreciable
shrinking, but then I wasn't looking for it - as I said, I had ordered
generously to allow for that. The texture, hand and surface did not
change in the wash, and it looks as though I will get some pretty tops
out of it. Not bad for $5.75 apiece.

This is the second time I have ordered from this company, and so far I
have been satisfied.
