I think I will start with vinegar in the second cycle rinse; I use it for so
many things.

i second the Oxyclean, although i use Oxyclean Baby because i
don't want the added detergents in regular Oxyclean. if it can
get baby/toddler clothes spotless, it'll get your gravy stains
out (gravy being a frequent spot inducer here too).
one caveat though, i use it as a soak, & it does change some
colors, particularly oranges (they turn pinkish).

the Oxyclean pretreater spray works well too, but it has the
detergents... i have a terrible time getting the suds out if i
use the detergent versions, but that's probably just me...

I use shampoo. I found it to be the best stain remover I have ever used.
I also never dry anything in the dryer if I just removed a stain. If the
stain hasn't come completely out the dryer sets it permanently.

Cellulose is pretty much cellulose, whether it's cotton, rayon or tencel.
Cleanup's going to be much the same for all of them.

Perhaps what you really need is the sort of apron my mom wore (she's also
a stain attractor!) -- kind of a 3/4 sleeved hospital gown thingie with a
button at the back of the neck, and elastic at the end of the sleeves.
Sure kept down the spatters on clothes.

Now my husband (who is out in the garage right now with black grease to
the elbow and tasteful smears on his t-shirt) -- I've been thinking
of sending him out for teflon coating. I think I'm kidding, but...
<vbg>

Meanwhile, it's back to scrubbing wheels with a toothbrush for me. <g>

Isn't Scotchguard a teflon type of thing, or am I thinking about
something else?
