I saw something about measuring around the bolt in another thread. I know
about it, but never tried.

My question:

Two turns is one meter, or one yard?

Is two turns around the bolt near the centre shorter than two turns near the
outside on a full bolt? It seems obvious, but I need some confirmation LOL
because otherwise I will go nuts.

Doing this is only an estimate I understand. And we are talking about
rectangular carboard bolts right?

Thanks!

Michelle Giordano

PS - Another thing - A Big Thank You!
two years ago someone/somepeople said that I should try vogue patterns
because simplicity was always too big on me. I didn't try them then, but
should have. I am officially IN LOVE with vogue patterns, even if they cost
more, I am 100% satisfied (but will look for sales lol). Thanks to those of
you who recommended vogue! I just made a cardi-wrap jacket from vogue and
it was really easy and I wear it all the time. I can't say the same about
my simplicity stuff, I spend hours fitting the patterns. with vogue I don't
spend hours. I am about to make this:

Trousers first, Jacket later. I am susceptible to the envelope pics, I
bought grey fabric. I want to resist purple for the jacket......... can I
resist???? And the trousers will not be 10" too long according to the
measurements I took of the pattern! That is a bonus.
Thanks Again!!!

Dear Michelle,

If you have to resist the purple, how about lime green? Nice outfit!

Dear Michelle,

About measuring around the bolt. At best, this is only an estimate. I
do it when I need, say, five yards of fabric, and the bolt looks
skimpy. By counting the layers (not around), you will find the
approximate yardage left.

I wonder if that would look good on me...... what do you
think........blonde hair (used to be natural) blue eyes, white as a
ghost.... I think it might! Thanks, thats a good idea, I am trying to stay
away from pink, a person can't always wear pink! Just every second day!

Dear Michelle,

I think it would be a great color on you. I hope you can post a
picture when it's completed.Your eyes will look bluer, and sparkle!!
