OH wow! I really don't know how you manage to overcome such an amount of
obstacles with such presence of mind. Well, I guess it must be your forces
brat background. My mind is reeling with worries at the thought of
entertainig about 50 people at that hotel while your mom did that BBQ for
the regiment out of nothing in her own garden (more or less).

Its good, though, that the folks at the shop were that helpful and didn't
put up a fight about who stained the fabric (like basely lying 'It was OK
when it left here' to save them the trouble of replacing). I bet your
networking will get you even more weird jobs, and perhaps a couple of
Bridezillas plus a herd of Frankenmaids, too. ;-)

Anyway, keep on sewing, girl, we're with you in our thoughts! And when
you're done, just keel over into the swimming pool to relax your shoulders
and other strained parts of your poor body. And get Alan to give you a
massage with some muscle oil. Or bathe you in milk and honey. Or take you
out to a fancy dinner. Or roll out the red carprt for you. Ah well, I'm a
bit over the top... Gotta go, get DD ready and then sew, sew, sew the
dress...

U. ;-)

I don't panic about the big stuff: there's no point. And don't forget
that by the time we had that BBQ, Mum had been doing this sort of thing
for 20 years! And had three daughters who are all fully trained and
competent operators of such things as the Kenwood Chef and all it's
gadgetry, Big Sharp Knives, and sauspans, etc... When I did our Silver
Wedding party a couple of years back, all the friends and family just
mucked in and helped with salads and putting things on serving dishes,
and carted it all up to the paddock. It's fun. :)

Oh, the shop ladies were fine about it. Certainly a place I'll go back
to, and my Friend Diane has bought miles of stuff from them in the past,
so I knew it was a good shop.

More champagne, I think! ;)
