I have a pair of boots where the metal pull tab on a zipper snapped in
half. The zipper still works, but it is very difficult to zip/unzip.
Do replacement tabs exist? The remaining half of the tab still
attached to my zipper looks like it could be cut off. But I don't see
any way of opening the 'loop' on the slider where the tab attaches; it
looks like it was formed/pressed together when they were made. If
replacement tabs exist, how do they attach?
I was hoping to find a website and/or onlin shop explaining how to
replace the tab, and even offer some styles of tabs, but I've not found
anything yet. If I found a style I like, I'd be willing to replace the
other tab as well.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Go to your local fabric store, and look on the notions wall for a
'zipper repair kit'. The kit should contain new pulls and an
instruction sheet.
Warning: last time I carried an item needing a new pull to an old,
established repair shop, they stuck, basically, a string through a hole
in the broken slider, and charged me $8.00 US for it. Now, I could have
done that myself. I was hot! SO, if you decide to hire someone to do
the repair, be sure to ask how they plan to fix the zip pull, so that
you don't get less than you hope for.

Go to your local Hardware (or Sporting Goods) store, and ask them for
a "split ring". These are smaller versions of those used to hold keys
on the end of a chain.

An image search on google will show you several pictures on the first
page of results.
