Hi everyone.....I need help please...I have never done this before.so here
goes..

I am making some curtains for my lounge.......the material I have bought is
not wide enough..so.i bought extra meters,
so I could cut it in half and ,add a piece to each width to make it the
width I need....the design is matching up quite nicely
but they are both a selvedge edge.that I am going to have to use......for
the joining..
.Should I cut the selvedge off ??? as it seems to pucker up quite badly when
I try to match the two together..
which makes the lengths pull up on one side of each piece....which is then
shorter..

Thank you for any help..

No. The classic way is to leave the selvage and to make short snips in
it at right angles to the seam, every 12" or so. Only cut the selvage
off if the pattern match is more than an inch in from the selvage.

Like so:

-----------------------------------------------------seam
______________|_______________________|______________selvage with snips
