OK, I'll admit that I went to Walmart the other day. Not one of my
favorite places. When I was in the sewing section, I spotted the cutest
little sewing machine (purple in color..my favorite). Only $39.00.
Since I was getting ready for a small sewing project (a slipcover for my
head board) and I really hate going up and down our basement
stairs....yes, my sewing area is in the basement, because there is room
to keep it up permanently. And I didn't want to haul up my regular
machine....I bought the cute little thing.

Well, it is set up temporarily in the garden room...ready to go. All I
have to do is get all the fabric ready to go. My local fabric shop was
having a sale and I found what I needed for 1/2 off.

Will try to take a before and after picture of the small project.
Simple sewing should be easy enough on this machine, but if any of you
have had any experience on this one...please, let me know.

Cute. Poor reviews for sewing, but cardmakers seem to like it...

My adult sonis moving into in a camper---caravan--- and has been thinking
about getting one of these ---because of the size---to do simple mending to
jeans and shirts. I would sure like to know what others think of their
performance. They gotta be better than those $20 cheap things you sometimes
find.

Possibly... He'd be better looking for a nice original Featherweight or
Elna Lotus.

The Janome Gem is small, not too expensive, and gets good ratings, and
reportedly Sears has a clone of it that they sell for about $100.
