Dear All,

Sorry to appear from nowhere with a request for help but I thought
you'd be my best chance of finding a particular watch.

My Aunt is an avid embroiderer and several years ago (mid 1990s I
believe) she found a wonderful watch that she absolutely loved. It was
a thin quartz watch, a little like a Swatch. It had a black face and
strap, if I recall correctly, with a pair of scissors as hands and a
reel of cotton and a thimble as the 6 and 12 markers. My memory is hazy
so this may not be an exact description, but you get the idea I hope...
The same sort of watch was available in a number of different designs
for several hobbies, jobs etc.

This watch broke a short while ago and try as I might I can't find a
replacement - I even went to France to a shop that I saw one in about 6
years ago to try to replace it. (As you can tell, my aunt is very dear
to me). I'm afraid I don't know by whom or where it is made.

However, if some affectionate neice has bought one for you in recent
times, or if you still have a cherished version of this watch, would
you please give me any information you can about where it came from/who
made it and so on. You'd make me very happy!

Many, many thanks

Emma

G'day Emma

Sorry, but I can't help....the watch sounds really nice though so I will
be interested in replies as I'd like one myself! Thanks for the idea
and good luck in your search.
Bronwyn ;-)

There is a sewer's watch at Clotilde.com. I typed 'watch' (no quotes) into
a
search box for it. It is a pin, watch has scissors for hands, and hangs
from
a broach that looks like part of a measuring tape with a thimble and
something
else dangling beside the watch.
