Today I'm devoting to sewing! I wanted something special
for my 50th(!!!) high school reunion coming up in two weeks.
Yesterday I found the most gorgeous silk burn-out velvet,
sheer black background, with a silvery-gray-shading-to-black
abstract velvet pattern. I'm going to make something like
Vogue 2779:

or Simplicity 3894:

I'm planning to wear this top with the palazzo pants I made
from the shimmery slinky knit pants this summer, and a
V-neck tank top of the same fabric.

And I have a pair of jeans to hem for DGD, so Hi Ho, Hi Ho,
off to the sewing room I go.

The jeans are hemmed, with a perfectly matched heavy duty
thread, and now I'm using my Dremel tool with an oval
grinding stone to "distress" the hem. Against my frugal
nature, but these are for a 12-year-old newly in Junior High
school....
