I checked locally all over today, and have found nothing
except 100% polyester in the rich royal blue I need to line
the velvet jacket and vest for DGD. I even had the two
largest fabric srotes check swatches at their Special Order
desks. <sigh>

I absolutely do not want polyester satin (or anything else
poly) as it's against her skin. And I don't think Ambience
(rayon) is durable enough. These outfits take a lot of
stress, movement, and probably some perspiration.

I think I want 100% silk "something" or maybe 100% cotton
sateen. DGD really wants "something satiny Grandma". I
know there are some textile experts on this group, so here
are my ideas ( I will probably order swatches):

Silk Habotai (Thaisilks.com has several deep blues)
Silk charmeuse (Thaisilks and denverfabrics.com both have
royal blue)
Silk Duchesse satin (Thaisilks.com has royal blue)
Cotton sateen (but I can't find *any* anywhere in royal
blue)
Ambience (I have a nice swatch of a perfect color but would
it take the wear and tear?)
A rayon/something-else combo?
Silk satin from Dharma and dye it?

Please share your thoughts, I would really like to get this
outfit started soon.

Beverly

If you want it to take persperation and be fully washable,go with the
cotton.

If it's only going to get occasional washes, go with the duchess satin.

I think the others are all too soft and light to withstand the cotton
velvet on the outside.
