Hi there --=20
Perhaps you are unaware about how Usenet works. This newsgroup is part
of the Usenet. Usenet is a world-wide distributed discussion system. It
consists of a set of "newsgroups" with names that are classified
hierarchically by subject. Groups have charters which determine their
use and function. This particular group is part of the textiles
hierarchy, and is a discussion-only group. As such, ads are not welcome
here.=20
Anyone who doesn't know, or if a first time poster should read the
newsgroup rules....a perfectly appropriate thing to do is ask members if
posting an ad is acceptable....before actually posting it.
Quote from the FAQ: "NO Advertising. NONE. No commercial ads, no auction
notices, no ebay announcements, no "for sale" private party ads, no
links to a commercial site; nothing. There are marketplace groups for
ads. (rec.crafts.textiles.marketplace)"=20
http://www.faqs.org/faqs/usenet/advertising/how-to/part1/ "Advertising is widely seen as an 'off-topic' intrusion into the
discussions of any particular newsgroup (newsgroup is the Usenet word
for discussion group or bulletin board). Each newsgroup has a specific
set of subjects it is intended to cover, and in order for newsgroups to
function as effective discussion forums, it is important that people
stay 'on-topic'. If everyone disregarded the particular topics each
newsgroup is intended to cover and simply posted whatever they wanted
wherever they want, the entire system would break down. "

"Please don't use Usenet as an advertising medium. Advertisements on
Usenet are rarely appreciated. In general, the louder or more
inappropriate the ad is, the more antagonism it stirs up. Just think how
annoying it is to you to have your evening meal interrupted by a
telemarketer. The feeling is the same when someone posts inappropriate
commercial messages in a newsgroup. If in doubt, don't do it."
