Had a great weekend fabric shopping. Hit a few new to me fabric stores.
I went with my sewing buddy. We grabbed a list of fabric stores and hit
the road. Some of the ones we went to had been closed down for awhile.
The list was out of date.

On Saturday we went to

Bernie's Quilting Closet
329 Main Street
Wallingford CT
(203) 679-0193

This was huge score. I got 30 pieces myself. They were running a sale,
everything was either 60% or 40% off. We stocked up on all kinds of
goodies. The staff was very helpful.

Fabric Gallery
7 S Main Street
Cheshire CT
(203) 271-2565

It's a smaller store and the prices seemed fair. I only bought two
pieces there. The lady that runs the store was very helpful. She also
teaches sewing classes.

On Sunday we were going to hit a few stores including
http://www.banksvilledesignerfabrics.com/pages/home.htm for BEI Design
but my buddy got sick so we cut the day short.

We did get to

Colchester Mill Fabric Outlet
120 Lebanon Ave
Colchester CT
(860) 537-2004

WOW. They have a large selection of fabric. I scored 15 pieces myself.
They have a preferred customer club card as well. For every completed
card you receive $20 in merchandise free. I asked if they had a web site
and was told no. They are going to be getting one but they doubt they
will be selling online.

So all in all a good weekend.

I appreciate your even thinking of it, thanks! I sent them
an e-mail, asking if they had any magenta/fuchsia 100%
cotton velvet. They offered to send me swatches even though
I have not signed up as a member. I thought that was
exceptionally nice service. The swatches came yesterday,
unfortunately none will work for the Highland Nationals
vest. So it's back to the dyeing board. :-} The order
form Dharma Trading came Friday.
