Is anyone else experiencing trouble posting? I have written at least
five messages to the Pattern Drafting subject, and either get an error
message or they just don't appear. I've also gotten messages saying
that the alt.sewing website is unavailable--try later. What's going
on???

I haven't had any problems posting or received messages on the group
recently. In fact, I've read and saved a couple posts by you on Pattern
Drafting, but am unsure if they are the ones you are talking about or not.
I thoroughly enjoy reading all your posts.

Terri,
II show exactly 5 posts for you in pattern drafting.I think you need to
check with your provider ask to why your not seeing what the rest of us are.
In your last one you talked about facings that don't show and I've
been meaning to ask you how to do that.

Dear Juno,

I draft all my patterns without seams, then add them when I'm
finished. So when I state measurements, please remember that they are
without seam allowances.

I make facings 2-1/2 inches wide. I never clip around the neckline,
either before or after the facing is sewn. Instead, I trim away all
but 1/8 inch of the garment and facing. Then, I press all the seam
allowances towards the facing, and zigzag through all layers, on the
facing, right next to the seam. When the facing is turned in and
pressed, it will never flap out. For extra safety, the facing can be
tacked to the seam at the shoulders.

If I'm making a sleeveless garment, I redraw the facing to incorporate
both the neck and arm facings.

If I'm using a stiff or crisp fabric, I use another, lightweight
fabric for facings, with the same washing characteristics as the
fashion fabric.

When I'm going to line a garment, I sew the lining and the facings
together, and press the seam towards the lining. This keeps the
facing flat and virtually invisible.
