It's gonna be a busy week... In fact, it's BEEN a busy week, and it's
just after lunch on Monday!

Yesterday I designed and printed the invitations for our Big Do this
summer (Silver wedding!), then researched and made a list of B&B places
for non-campers, and wrote a letter to go with it for all our friends
and families... Then printed off 75 copies of the invitation! Just
have to write the names in now! This was AFTER swimming yesterday
morning from 9:20 to 10 am (fibro is bad, so was exhausted after 30
lengths. Not good, but better than not going at all!).

So far today I have put name tapes in two pairs of school trousers and
hemmed up one for today (before 7:30 this morning!

Then I spent an hour or so copying names out of our address book on the
pooter into a template for labels for envelopes. This was easier than
setting up a mail merge from scratch and printing on the odd-size envelopes!

After this I drew up the pattern (Mk I) for a set of frocks for an
elderly lady: she wants something loose and easy for summer, in pure
cotton or linen... Garden Frocks, she said: the sort you drag on and
mooch in round the garden, but are decent enough to whiz off to the
newsagent across the way for ice cream for the grands of that's what
takes your fancy!

I've reheated my coffee twice, and keep stumbling on the cat ramp...
Hm... DH painted the doorstep frames yesterday afternoon, and set up a
ramp between the conservatory and the living room to keep little furry
footprints off the wed varnish. Fat flaming chance with Cornflake
about! Dozy beast got his foot into the one inch gap! Dur! (Still,
not as bad as when I painted the front living room windowsill in the
previous house with white paint: Marmalade proceeded in a leisurely
fashion down the whole 98" of the sill, and then carefully and neatly
trod white footprints on as many bits of furniture as he could manage
before it dried!)

Still to do: Alterations for a toile for a wedding dress to fit
tomorrow, make up a toile for this frock, and try to complete DH's first
shirt...

Oh, at the back end of last week, DH whinged that the shirt I made him a
while back was wearing out! Well, I'm not at all surprised as this
shirt was made as a thing to help me get used to the new sewing machine
I bought to make my wedding dress on! Hah! So I dug 3 bits of fabric
out of the loft for him to pick between, and the blasted man wants all
three made up as he couldn't make up his mind! I did say that he'd have
to dump a bundle of old work shirts in the charity bag to make room for
them...

Oh my goodness, Kate! Aren't you the one who was just asking another
poster if she had time to breath?! Congrats on the upcoming Silver Wedding.

Do you manage to sleep fairly well? My DSIL who has fibro has a lot of
trouble resting well, which of course makes her feel even worse.

It's gonna be FUUUUUNNN! I get to cook for dozens of people rather than
sew! :D

Oh, I know that one well... No, sometimes I sleep but wake in pain so
don't feel rested, and sometimes I hurt too much to sleep, so get up and
do other things! At the moment the pain ain't good, so sleep is
somewhat optional, so I do things to take my mind off it...

On days like today when I have hand trouble, I find drawing, cutting and
making up toiles for customers a useful and soothing thing, as the
sewing isn't all hand finished and fiddly!

I can't write neatly today, so the invitations may have to wait, and the
ibuprofen levels are high enough to make me a leeetle shaky, so beading
is out, and chopping out toules is about as much as I can do, so I'm
doing lots! Maybe if I feel better later, I'll do some of DH's shirt...

The shirt is a Kwick Sew pattern, but I don't like the sleeve placket,
so I nicked one out of the Vogue shirt pattern I used to make my shirt I
wore for graduation when I got my MA! Lovely shirt, that was, even if
it did make me look like a dumpling in a hanky! White shirt on a size
14 bust... TWO Dumplings in a hanky! ;) Not a good look! Thank God
those days are long gone! (I bought M&S size 10 T shirts on Friday! :D
:D )

I am in awe of all you accomplish. I'm still plugging away on
the practice kilt because I can only work on it about an hour at
a stretch. My hands just won't take any more than that. Plus,
life keeps jumping into the fray.

Tell Alan he has to make a trade for the extra two shirts...maybe
a nice spa/manicure/pedicure??? ;-)

You get more done when you're feeling below par than most of us do when
we're in tiptop shape. You really are amazing. The organization you
have doesn't hurt, either.

Hope ol' fibro will cut you some slack soon.
