I am very happy DGD did so well; tell her I send my Congratulations.
When will some photos be up for us to see? Not anxious, am I?

Patience, Grasshopper. I do have pictures, I'll get them up
soon.
I have to spend the next couple of days getting an area in
the garage cleared to store 1000 square feet of hardwood
flooring, which is on a truck wending its way here as of
today. My darling daughters and sons-in-law are going to
install it this summer. YIPEE! I'm finally going to get
rid of ALL the carpeting.

That's good news! One of the things I love about my house is the wood
floors. They're not in great shape, probably could stand to be sanded
and sealed, but even in this state are so much better than icky carpet.
Especially with cats, and an iffy housekeeper. ;-)

Yes, but if you've got a wooden floor your lack of enthusiasm for cleaning
will be disclosed to the general public much sooner. (SCNR) ;-)
U. - Had carpets in my old place where the outside won the struggle to get
inside and many a half-eaten mouse adorned the flooring in the morning, but
married into a house with parquet flooring which spurred my housewifely
ambition a good deal. ;-)

But I am not the designated cleaner in this house. The vacuum and
dusters and all are the property of my DH who is the official
housekeeper. I shop, cook, do laundry, manage money and bills, and
manage rentals. Plus handle any legal stuff. When I say shop, I mean
that I buy everything except his shoes. He cleans and takes out the
trash. I even keep his mother's room in the nursing home supplied with
fresh flowers. We have a "division of labor."
