The old web site is back up this morning. Many of the older projects
are to go, and will be replaced by galleries of finished work. Teaching
stuff, basic info, and resources will stay/be updated when the site gets
its major overhaul in the next few days. There are a couple of
SERIOUSLY LARGE new projects to go up, so some changes will be fairly
radical!

The site has got so big and unwieldy that navigation is a problem.
Please could you let me know what you find difficult, and we'll try to
address that in the upgrade. Suggestions and pointers to examples will
be helpful. I need to keep navigation as plain and graphic free as
possible to allow as much picture space for the projects as possible.
So while moving graphic buttons are fun, this will have to be text based
navigation.

So far I have been very bad... I have just added stuff in a rather ad
hoc manner, and never blatted old stuff! This has now come back to
haunt me! I seem to have reached the end of the internet...

Thanks for the offer, Charlie. I don't want to change ISP if possible -
we shall see!

changing ISPs is not such a horrible deal. I just left a couple of pointer
pages to get people to the right place if they have the old URL. I t was
worth it for cost etc.

Re, navigation. What I did when my site got big was divide it into
sections. Navigation to teach section is provided in the menu, then when you
get to each secion, there is interior navigation and a return to home. If
you can codeinclude files for your navigation and create a template page,
it's pretty easy to get teh new site going, just copy and paste everything
into the new template.

My main sections are "about " ( the business) "Penny" ( personal) and "tips"
( gear making tips)

But that's the point; your URL is just that, unique, points to your
pages regardless of where they're hosted
