What don't you try a flexible curve. You can bend it to the shape you want.
They are about 18" long, blue and made by Staedler ( I think).
I bought mine at Staples. It is very handy.

Phae, when I need a long, multiple-directional curve, I simply move my
French curve so it corresponds to the curve I need. There are so many
possible planes on the French curve, I just slide it along until it
matches what I need, flipping it over if necessary.
