I seem to recall a discussion recently on preferred methods of having
a bib fasten and I just yesterday came up with a solution I quite
like. We have several "art smocks"--long sleeved to the knees
bibs--those being the only thing that keeps us from having to change
our daughter's clothes every time she eats. They all tie behind the
neck, which is really inconvenient when said neck is pressed with all
the might of that little body into the back of the high chair. I went
down to Hancock Fabrics and got several...heck, I'm not sure what
they're called...they're the barrel shaped fasteners you often see on
outdoor gear. They work a treat on the bib strings. We just pop it
over her head and a quick slide has the neck all fastened. MUCH
better than anything else we've used!

Hello Sue,

I think that is the best idea for fastening bibs I've heard of so far. At
least for the type of bib in question. I think I'll try that, too. Still go
loads of those thingums lying around from two-pair set of slacks I bought
super cheap-o. They had rubber bands that were to be pulled tight with those
things everywhere although they didn't need any of those. Remember what I
said of those bibs with arms? I take it back, they are not big enough, I
gotta get bigger things, just like you. She wants her own spoon! ;-)

I hope it works as well for you as it has for us! And any less bib
coverage than we have and we've got to change her clothes every time
we feed her (or settle for having her look like a produce stand). I'm
thinking we may need to look into mealtime shower caps too! She got
an incredible amount of avocado in her hair last night.
