...from house hunting..whirlwind job..13 houses first day, 8 second day,
bid placed 2rd day, countered, and recountered, waiting to hear back
from them. In the meantime, found out that we probably can't close an
earlier on the house up north, which thoroughly screws us as school
starts in VA in August, and we really didn't want to put DS in school up
here for a week, only to have to pull him out and move to another state,
where he would be nearly a month behind his classmates.

anybody that is here and also on r.c.t.q can update the rest of y'all.
I'm too pooped to type the entire wonderful (not!) story again.

Larisa, ready to chuck it all and stay in the frigid north, even though
it is a good offer for DH

Oh, Larisa, how frustrating! Is there any way either you or DH could
make the move to VA with the children, so DS can start school with his
peers? Difficult, I know, but maybe family could help out?

Or, could you get a class syllabus from the VA school and home school
him until you make the final move?

Calling the school district is on the list of phone calls for today. I
have already gotten the calls made to the VA realtor, the NY realtor,
the moving companies to see if there would be a change in price, um...oh
yeah, the mechanic to get DHs car fixed (provided they have the correct
part this time - over a week with no A/C and it is in the low 90s now).
Um...took DS to vacation bible school, grabbed some fresh milk, and am
currently printing out the adjusted contract for the house in VA....will
track doewn the information that I need regarding school districts and
the phone numbers that I need and will start making the calls as soon as
I get off the computer

Did you try to Google the school district? Whenever I forget my DDs
school's phone numbers I just google it
Type in (example) "Saskatoon School District" or the name of the actual
school followed by the name of the city: "Name" School Saskatoon.

HTH in some way, good luck with everything!

I have found most of the school districts have a web site with the different
school administrators, faculty and agendas for each class. They are
usually, for instance, xxxxxxsd.org. HTH.
