Dear group

Im amazed to see that there is a group such as this - but what a
wonderful surprise! I was expecting "no matches found" response when
I searched for a 319K bobbin case.

I inherited my lovely 319K from my mother. Up till now its been
working beautifully but last week (while sewing vinyl) I broke a
needle and it seems that the needle has put a nick in the bobbin case
and as a result, the bottom thread is forming masses of loops.

Ive been advised to buy a new machine but I know how good these
machines are.
Does anyone know where I may be able to source a replacement 319K
bobbin case?

Alternatively - is there anything else that can be done to repair the
case? I did see the pictures of the modified bobbin case and perhaps
this is a possibility.

Finally, can anyone recommend someone who might know how to fix this
for me?
I can post the bobbin case anywhere. The machine can be delivered to
locations in Melbourne or Canberra.

Many thanks (in advance) to anyone who can help

Thanks Lisa

Lisa,

Can you post a picture of the bobbin case? I don't know which bobbin
case you need, but bobbin cases are usually fairly easily replaced.

Lisa,

You can get a new bobbin case from these people

http://tinyurl.com/5prfq8

I have no connection with them, but I have found they seem to carry
quite a few parts.

You can probably find other places, have you contacted your local sewing
machine repair person to see if they can get you the part you need?

A cursory Google search brought up
http://www.diamondsewing.com.au/prod.asp who say they have bobbin cases
for the Singer 319 in stock.

Drat! I should have read the whole thread before going off to hunt through
my files. If I'd bothered to read the whole thread before swinging into
action, I'd have known that I only had to concur with your suggestion and
endorse the service they've given me in the past. Why do I never learn?
