Thanks, we have looked at all the mentioned stores plus Comp USA and maybe
1-2 others, I don't remember. There is no Staples in Houston.
DS and I are going to Target tomorrow.

compusa is always 2-3 x higher than newegg on accessories, we've found.

Aaarrrgghhh! I ordered a "Singer" USB-to-serial adapter (SINGER® part
number 270 10U1-06101) from the Singer Service Center in Bellevue, WA,
and paid $39.95. The one they sent is *identical* to:

which sells for $10.99 plus $4.99 shipping.

I'm headed off to return the "Singer" one...
