I figured I'd better check in this morning. We had some weather out here
last night. Some of you may see news of tornadoes in Arkansas and be
worried. I'm fine here.
We did have pretty wicked thunderstorms. Lots of wind and unbelievable
lightning. Had to give the dog benadryl because he was freaking out. If
there were any tree branches still barely clinging after the ice storm in
January, I guarantee they are down on the ground today. The storms came in
so fast. In about 10 minutes it went from "getting towards sunset" to dark
as midnight outside. Fortunately, the storms also passed by almost as
quickly.
However, the tornadoes were all well to my south and west. Some in eastern
Oklahoma. The worst look to have been in south western Arkansas. A small
town called Mena (mean-uh) was hit pretty hard. The scary part of that one
is the biggest storm shelter in the town is in the basement of the city
hall, in downtown. A lot of people went to the city hall to take shelter
there. And the tornado appears to have gone directly through downtown.
There were reports of some people being killed in the storm. Horrible
news. Keep a good thought for the folks down there. The local weather guy
said there were up to 8 possible tornadoes.
Hopefully Pat will also check in. I know Pat lives just a little north of
me (and there's not a lot more north of me that's still in AR.) So
hopefully, the worst of the storm missed there as well.
Didn't want you all to worry.
Sharon

Thanks Sharon for taking the time to let us know how you are. I saw the
pictures on TV this morning and thought of everyone in your state. Hope
it won't take long to clean up the mess.

Haven't seen the news yet, so I had not started worrying.
I'm glad you and yours are all ok. Give the dog lots of TLC
today.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm glad all is okay around your area. There
was quite a bit of news about it on TV, and I was thinking good thoughts of
you and Pat.
We were on the very tail end of the trail and had a little lightening, but
none reached the ground, thankfully, since I was home alone.
Have a great day and a Happy Easter!

Oh dear, I had no idea things have been that rough over there. It might be
on the 8:00 p.m. news here, but I doubt it, they're too busy with the
earthquake in Italy. Anyway, good to hear that you are OK, hope that Pat is
all right too. Looks like a pretty tough year for you so far, with the ice
storm and now this. However, it can only get better, can't it? I keep my
fingers crossed for you. ;-)
