They do if they can connect the email address of the sender of spam to
that of a registered account. It is essential to expand the headers on
the spam, then *copy and paste* the entire message including headers
into your email blank. Send spam to spam@ebay.com.
With "phish" it's handled slightly differently. Again expand the
headers, then *forward* the entire message including full headers to
spoof@ebay.com.
