Dear xoxochristine,
If you don't have an overlocker, don't worry, you can do a very fine
hem on a regular machine. Fold over 1/4 inch and sew close to the
fold. Since you're doing circular ruffles, don't press; you'll distort
the fabric. Then, cut the excess of the hem away, so that all that is
left is the stitching. Then, set your machine to the widest zigzag
stitch it will do, and the shortest stitch, less than one on most
machines. Let the right zag of the stitch go all the way off the
fabric, and the left zig go into the fabric just past the stitching.
This will give almost an invisible edge, finely finished, with no loose
threads. You might want to go around twice. You could use gold,
silver, or a contrasting color if you want.
