Finally!!! ;) Seems like I've had a terrible time getting into my sewing
room lately. Just too many other things going on.

Finally finished up the jacket out of the $1 stretch twill today. It came
out pretty good. I'll say this, it fits as well or better than a purchased
jacket. lol

I forgot to measure from the shoulder to the bottom of the armscye. So it's
lower than I would have made it if I'd been paying attention. The sleeves
are also fuller than I would like. I'm trying to decide if it bugs me
enough to take them out and taper them or not. ;) I decided against
lining it for now. I wanted to get it made and didn't have anything in
stash I thought would work. So that's fine. I wore it this afternoon and
the in-laws both thought it looked lovely. ;) So did DS. Like I said,
the fit isn't bad, but it could be better. Will also make a note on the
pattern to make the collar less tall on the next one. It's just a smidge
too high for my taste. It's not bugging me to death, but it is brushing
against my jaw sometimes. Minor things all. Oh too, I did have to take
the body of the jacket in a little. For anyone else contemplating this
pattern (Simplicity 4099) the jacket fits more like a coat than a blazer.
(thus the fuller sleeves.) The pattern was a pretty good one. Easy to
follow, no stupid directions, all the pieces lined up as they should. But
do keep in mind it has more ease than a blazer.

If I can, I'll get someone to take pics of it on me too. I had to snap
these quickly today, the battery was really low in the camera. lol

Nice job, Sharon. And the few changes can be done on the next one you make.
