Just out of curiosity, (and I know, this is wayyyy of topic) how old
are all of the people in this group? When I read, I sometimes feel as
if I am the youngest person here... so, if nobody minds, please reply
with the following of choices
A. still a minor (me!)
B. twenty-something fresh out of college (wish it were me!)
C. thirties and working
D. fourties and part time
E. fifties, and retired
F. rather not say
this just makes me sooo curious, so I had to ask.... Not to be rude, I
enjoy people of all ages, and certaintly don't descriminate.

I'm sixty-five.
I don't remember learning to use a needle. (I do remember that I
practiced with a double thread so I wouldn't have to worry about it
coming out of the needle.) I was around twelve before I made any
garments, though, and I never made doll clothes until I was grown up
-- my older sister spoiled me rotten. (When I made my first apron,
she made a dress to set it off.)
My students -- I have three hours with two or three children once a
year -- learn with a single thread; I hover around and re-thread their
needles.

Age generally has little to do with work life, and you're making lots
of assumptions here!
I'm 49 and work F/T. A few years ago I was in grad school (F/T, P/T,
retired, repeat). With a bachelor's I was 20-something and working F/T,
then became self-employed and pretty much worked F/T + P/T (although
some pals claimed that I was retired).
Hope this doesn't skew the results too much.
Oh, and I've been sewing since before I took the stooopid home ec class
at age 13.
