I found some slinky metallic knit fabric on clearance at Joann's and
thought I'd make some pj pants for the DGDs but I've tried various
needles and either skipping stitches or the needle is having to sort of
punch through the fabric. It's some sort of polyester I think and has a
shiny metallic looking design. I have several different colors and
designs so I really need to figure out the correct needle to use.
So far I've tried ball point, metallica, embroidery, and universal. I'm
open to any and all suggestions. Two grandaughters are having a birthday
on the 21st and I wanted to get their pkg in the mail no later than
Saturday morning.

I found my receipt and this fabric is called foil prt bodre, of course I
know that's some sort of abbreviation but I think the prt would mean
print, as in foil print? and bodre is out of my guessing range. Does
this mean anything to anyone? It's a shiny glittery print on the slick
and slinky knit fabric. I'll try different needles tomorrow when I can
see better but I know someone has sewn with this, I just can't describe
it very well.

Judie,
Did you try a needle for stretch knits instead of ballpoint? Sometimes
the package says for jersey knits.

Juno,
Not yet, but I will go out and get some this evening. I think I've tried
everything I have here.
Thanks!

I've posted a picture in case anyone else may have experience with
sewing this type of fabric. I'm sure I can't be the only one trying to
sew something from this slinky, shiny, fun stuff.

And, I found a needle that will work with this fabric without skipping.
I'm using a quilting needle. It's the only thing I've tried that can
actually get through this fabric and now I can finally get on with these
pj pants.
