a limited survey of washington dc area stores:

jo-anns doesn't carry woolly nylon.
Michael's doesn't have it.
Hancock fabrics is discontinuing
[and selling off remainder at 50% of their regular price which is
discounted anyhow]
G-street fabrics in the washington area, does have YLI woolly nylon
and, I think, the full complement of YLI colors.

Not withstanding, the color choice is limited.

I want gold woolly nylon for serging the top of a purse I am making for
DW. One side of the purse is woven, actually the tail of the warp from
making two purple stoles for clergy. It is purple bands of various yarns
and occasional gold metallic threads through with a couple 1/2 inch
bands of gold. Zipper and strap are purple; therefore gold seems the
obvious color to use when attaching zipper and liner to bag and finish
the top edge with either a rolled edge or a 3/4 thread overlock with
tight stitch. Believe me, I have been testing. Lots of practice in
threading loopers too cuz the concept of tying knots to pull the new
looper thread through just doesn't work so well with woolly nylon. [The
other side of the purse is same fabric I used for the backs of the
stoles, a purple dupioni silk which she likes well enough to have gone
and bought the same for a blouse!)

I have gold/black metallic woolly nylon. looks just ok not great. I have
bought and not tried gold/white.

Is there such a thing as gold/yellow/metallic gold woolly nylon?
