You forgot to mention the main mistake people make; inserting the
needle incorrectly.

Most frequent error I see is failing to put the presser foot down before
starting to sew! The kids do that time and time again...

But the link itself leads to a ebay guide which doesn't mention price,
so Whatever he's offering, it must be an expansion on this
troubleshooting guide.
