Got your attention? Well here's the problem. I've lost a lot of weight
but still have to wear an 18 because of spots that have not shrunk much.
Part of that is my abdomen but I have no butt any more and the leg opening
of my new bathing suit just hangs open on the butt side.

Any suggestions on how to correct the problem?

TIA.

Dear My Word,

Rip the crotch seam open. Remove the ellastic from the lower back
crotch. Pull the back towards the front between your legs, until it
feels better. You may need to re-shape part of the back. Then re-sew
the elastic. (I have the same problem--it worked for me).

Every time I see this post header, I read it as 'Soggy bottom',
which immediately makes me think of Depends...I seem to be getting
dyslexia, or my bifocal line hits at a crucial spot.
I fixed a suit for a friend by removing the stitching at the
outside leg opening, tapering the side of the suit (into the hem) using
my serger, and then top stitching the leg elastic in place. Use
matched threads, and no one will knnow you're altered your suit.
