Thanks so much, Kay. The old quotation, "Great minds think alike", is
certainly appropriate in describing the expert advice you and Kate have
provided. Your caution about cheapie thread causing the problem makes
perfect sense to me, as I've used my share of Wal-Mart's el cheapo thread
when white and black were the thread colors I needed. I've always relied on
Coats & Clark thread for matching less mundane fabric colors. I deeply
appreciate your advice.

Gutterman or Mettler are good quality threads. If your machine is a
bit picky about thread, either may suit it better than C&C.

http://www.uncommonthread and www.atlantathread are just 2 suppliers
that carry them.
