Good morning - afternoon or whatever everyone, it is just *the* most
beautiful autumn day here - sunshine , birds chirping, and just 24c so all
is well with the world
Actually the whole of Australia ,and I suspect other countries as well ,as
it must have made the news is very anxious over the fate of two miners who
have now entered their thirteenth day trapped 1kilometre underground. There
were three but one unfortunately died and they found him very early in the
search
The two left are trapped in a cage - which perhaps helped save them.
Apparently they are still in reasonably good spirits and a couple of days
ago they were able to pass food and vitamin supplements to them and even
some papers to keep them occupied, so we are all praying that the last few
metres they have to drill will go well - apparently they still have about 7
metres to drill to get to them. This was all triggered by an earth tremor
and so they are afraid to hasten with the drilling in case of setting off
another.
I have no real plans for the day except to just enjoy this fabulous time of
year when the weather is always perfect.
Hope you all have a wonderful day - and for those in the far north I hope
that the snow is far gone God Bless Gwen

Oh Gwen, I do hope they get to those miners soon, and without further
cave-ins. It would take a braver person than me to go that far underground.
I don't even like driving through tunnels.
It's a "fresh" spring morning here - windy and rainy, though the sun is
supposed to come out later on.
I plan to go to the nursery and have a look around. I also hope to finish
knitting a bag that I plan to full - my first attempt at this.
And then there's the newly painted basement room that needs to be
refurnished and reorganised.

Eimear, well as the joke goes that is why we know God is not a woman -
because no woman has time to rest on a Sunday God Bless Gwen

I hadn't heard that story, Gwen. When will they be able to rescue the
miners?

Katherine, they are still trying, (this being Mon morn) they have about a
metre and half to go -apparently the rock is 5 times harder than concrete. -
we are all holding our breath - regards Alison B
