Unfortunately, I cannot read the text at this particular site, but my
understanding is that all of the knitted objects were created in an attempt
to recreate some elderly lady's apartment!

A knitted walker?? I've seen it all now. :-)

enjoy.

I dunno, I suppose that it takes skill to do that, but I can't help
thinking
that it is an incredible waste of time and yarn. But that's just me.

Hi Mirjam and Katherine,

Why is this a waste of time and yarn? Just because it is non-
functional or representational? While I may not personally care for
the imagery of some of the objects (although there are several I find
amusing), I like the idea of using non-traditional media, such as
knitting, to address traditional themes in art.

Functional or non-functional, I think sincere creative effort is
worthy of some respect.

It looks like marvelous fun to me! Could someone PLEASE translate some
of the information? I am totally lost here and can't seem to link on
anything. I would love to see more of it and understand what it is
about.

As far as "a waste of time", I myself enjoy the challenge of the
logistics of knitting dog sweaters--and I have no dog. I enjoy the
challenge of creating complicated, tiny doll clothes--and I have no
dolls. I enjoy making interesting and fun hats--I have only one head.

I knit for the pure pleasure of it, as well as the intellectual
stimulation. Almost all the hats, scarves, mittens, etc go to local
charities for my community. The doll clothes go to my SIL for her
pleasure. And the dog sweaters? I hope to sell some through a local
shop that is run by a friend in town.

If I were to knit only for myself and total utilitarian reasons, I
would've stopped years ago. And what fun would THAT have been? :)
