I have seen this pattern used to make beach bags and other totes. It
works up into a nice netting, so I am hoping it will be useful to you.

Chain a multiple of 4 plus 9 to turn.

Row 1: Work 1 sc in 9th ch from hook, *ch 5, skip 3 ch, sc in next
ch; rep from * to end. Ch 5, turn.

Row 2: *Sc in center ch of ch-5, ch 5; rep from *, ending sc in 6th
ch of turning ch. Ch 5, turn.

Row 3: *Sc in center ch of ch-5, ch 5; rep from * to end. Ch 5, turn.

Repeat Row 3 for pattern. (To finish with a straight edge, on the last
row ch 3 between each sc.)
